Jobs for the month
- Wrap pots in horticultural fleece or bubble wrap and raise them on feet: cold gets in mostly through the roots.
- Water only when the soil is dry, never in the evening: water freezing in the pot damages roots.
- Perennial herbs (rosemary, sage, thyme) can stay outside, in a corner sheltered from wind.
- Clear fallen leaves from your pots: slugs and fungi hide underneath.
